The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the have risen the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
